MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir High Court has suspended the appointment of Zobia Khurshid Raja as Media Coordinator in the Information Department.
The court admitted a writ petition filed against her appointment and ordered the suspension of the appointment letter during the initial hearing.
The petition was filed by young lawyers Syed Zulqarnain Naqvi and Sardar Mateeb. In the petition, it was argued that after her appointment, Zobia Khurshid Raja was given a position in the Pakistan Peoples Party.
The petitioners claimed that the appointment was made against merit and without fulfilling legal requirements. They further stated that Zobia Khurshid Raja neither appeared in a test nor an interview for the post.
During the preliminary hearing, Justice Sardar Ejaz Khan ordered the suspension of the appointment. An Assistant Advocate General appeared in court on behalf of the government.
