Deepika Padukone dropped from ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ sequel: Here’s why!

Deepika Padukone dropped from 'Kalki 2898 AD' sequel: Here's why!

MUMBAI: Bollywood’s leading actress Deepika Padukone has been removed from the sequel to the film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.

Production house Vyjayanthi Movies issued a statement on social media saying that despite their long-standing collaboration, they have failed to build a strong partnership with Deepika Padukone.

The message issued by the production house said that Deepika will not be seen in the sequel to their next film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and they have taken this decision by mutual consent.

After this news came out, Indian media said that Deepika was removed from the film because she had demanded a 25% increase in her fee, in addition to which she had also demanded payment of accommodation and food expenses in a five-star hotel for her 25-member team.

According to Indian media, these demands were considered to be an additional financial burden for the production house, as a result of which the production team refused to continue working with them.

According to reports, this is not the first time that Deepika has been removed from a film due to her demands. Earlier, she had also parted ways with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film ‘Spirit’ due to similar demands.

It may be recalled that the first part of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ was released last year.
