RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s young spinner Arafat Minhas has created history in ODI cricket by taking 5 wickets in his debut match and breaking a 42-year-old national record.
Arafat Minhas took 5 wickets in his first match of his career against Australia in an ODI on Friday, thus becoming the first bowler from Pakistan to achieve this feat.
He took 5 wickets for just 32 runs with one maiden in 10 overs. His wicket-taking average was 3.2.
With this brilliant performance, Arafat Minhas broke the 42-year-old record of Zakaria Khan, who took 4 wickets for 19 runs in his first ODI against Sri Lanka in 1984.
Earlier, Zakaria Khan held the record for the best bowling figures on ODI debut for Pakistan, while Abdul Qadir took 4 wickets for 21 runs against Sri Lanka in 1983.
