DUBAI: Former national cricket team captain Shaheen Shah Afridi gave important advice to Shaheen Shah Afridi before the Pakistan-India match in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four stage.

Former Pakistan cricket team captain and fast bowler Wasim Akram gave important advice to Shaheen Shah Afridi regarding bowling.

Wasim Akram told Shaheen Afridi that he has to bowl smartly against Indian opener and vice-captain Shubman Gill. And he needs to adopt a specific tactic.

Referring to the India-Oman match, he said that in the previous match, Omani fast bowler Shah Faisal dismissed Shubman Gill with a late swing full-length ball. And I want Shaheen Afridi to do the same.

Wasim Akram said that the world has come to know that Shaheen Afridi bowls yorkers initially. Therefore, he now needs a plan B.

He said that if Shaheen Afridi continues to rely on yorkers, his problems may increase. A yorker is fine but not consistently. You must have seen Shaheen Afridi not putting pressure on himself to take wickets on every ball. It is better for him to bowl with length and variety.

It should be noted that India had defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in the group match.
