Asian U-18 Volleyball: Pakistan register convincing win against Kyrgyzstan

HAIKOU: Pakistan made a brilliant start to the Asian Boys Under-18 Volleyball Championship 2026, defeating Kyrgyzstan 3-0 in their first match.

On the first day of the event in Haikou, China, Pakistan maintained complete control of the game from the beginning and won the event with set scores of 10-25, 19-25, and 25-17.

The national team kept the opponent under pressure in the first set through effective service, strong blocking, and aggressive attacks, and easily won 25-10.

In the second set, Kyrgyzstan tried to resist, but Pakistan showed discipline and excellent teamwork to maintain the lead 25-19.

In the third set too, the Green Shirts played well in both defense and attack, winning the match 25-17 and winning the match 3-0.

Fahad Ali, Muhammad Anas, Captain Muhammad Irfan, Asadullah, and Faizanullah performed outstandingly for Pakistan.

Fahad Ali’s aggressive attacking, Muhammad Anas’ effective blocking, Muhammad Irfan’s leadership, Asadullah’s strong defense and Faizanullah’s effective attacks played an important role in the team’s success.

Pakistan U-18 team head coach Kifayatullah expressed satisfaction with the victory and said that a victorious start to a big tournament is always important.

According to him, the players followed the game plan effectively, maintained discipline and played with confidence; however, the team’s focus is now on the upcoming matches as Kazakhstan and Thailand are strong rivals.

Pakistan will play its second group match against Kazakhstan on July 13, while the third match is against Thailand on July 14. Both matches will start at 7:30 am Pakistan time.
