Aus vs Zim: Zimbabwe stun Australia in major T20 World Cup upset

COLOMBO: Zimbabwe inflicted a major upset on former world champions Australia in the group match of the T20 World Cup.

In the match being played in Colombo between (Aus vs Zim), Zimbabwe scored 169 runs while batting first and set Australia a target of 170 runs to win.

Chasing a target of 170 runs, Australia were bowled out for 146 in the 20th over, giving Zimbabwe a 23-run win.

Batting first, Zimbabwe scored 169 for 2 in their allotted 20 overs, with Brian Bennett scoring a brilliant 64, while Tadeonshe Murumani and Ryan Burrell scored 35 each. Sikandar Raza also scored 25.

Except for Matt Renshaw, no other Australian player could match the Zimbabwean bowlers, and the entire team was bowled out for 146. Renshaw scored 65 while Glenn Maxwell scored 31.
