ISLAMABAD: In a heartfelt announcement to his fans, Babar Azam has officially stepped down as the captain of the Pakistan men’s cricket team, here on Tuesday.
As per the details, Babar Azam posted on X, he said the decision, effective immediately, follows his notification to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and team management last month.
Babar expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the team, stating, “It’s been an honour to captain this squad. However, i believe it’s time for me to focus on my playing role.”
