Babar Azam resigns as captain of Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team

ISLAMABAD: In a heartfelt announcement to his fans, Babar Azam has officially stepped down as the captain of the Pakistan men’s cricket team, here on Tuesday.

As per the details, Babar Azam posted on X, he said the decision, effective immediately, follows his notification to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and team management last month.

Babar expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the team, stating, “It’s been an honour to captain this squad. However, i believe it’s time for me to focus on my playing role.”

Babar acknowledged the significant workload that comes with captaincy, emphasizing his desire to prioritize his performance on the field and spend more quality time with his family.

“By stepping down, I aim to gain clarity and concentrate more on my game and personal growth,”he added.

He expressed his apreciation of the unwavering support of his fans, whose enthusiasm has gratly motivated him througout his tenure. “I’m proup of what we’ve achieved together, and I’m excited to continue contributing to the team as a player, he said.
