DUBAI: The latest update of the ICC rankings has revealed significant changes for several Pakistani cricketers, with some players seeing a rise, while others are facing a decline.
Despite being on the sidelines for several months, opening batsman Fakhar Zaman managed to reach 17th place with 623 rating points.
Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Rizwan and Saim Ayub have maintained their positions in the rankings, occupying 20th, 22nd and 23rd positions respectively. Salman Ali Agha made a notable move up to 79th place, while Abdullah Shafiq’s performance declined to 98th place with 436 points.
In the ODI batting rankings, Babar Azam remains the world’s top batsman, with India’s Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in second and third places respectively.
In bowling, Haris Rauf remains at 18th place with 585 points. Naseem Shah and Mohammad Wasim Jr. have moved up two places to 59th. Mohammad Nawaz remains at 72nd position.
However, Shaheen Afridi has suffered a drop, dropping from third to fourth place as Sri Lanka’s Mahesh Thekshana overtook him. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan and India’s Kuldeep Yadav occupy the top two positions.
In Test cricket, Mohammad Rizwan has dropped five places to 11th, while Babar Azam has moved up five places to 12th. Salman Ali Agha has moved up to 22nd, and Shan Masood has climbed 12 places to 45th.
Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafiq have seen a drop, dropping to 49th and 53rd respectively. Kamran Ghulam and Saim Ayub have also moved up to 87th and 92nd positions.
Among Test bowlers, Noman Ali and Shaheen Afridi moved up to 11th and 21st respectively. Mohammad Abbas and Naseem Shah saw a slight decline, but Abrar Ahmed made a notable climb to 58th. Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins, and Kagiso Rabada occupy the top three positions.
In T20 cricket, Babar Azam moved up to sixth, joining his teammate Mohammad Rizwan in the top 10. Saim Ayub retained his position at 57th. Australia’s Travis Head tops the T20I rankings, followed by England’s Phil Salt and India’s Tilak Verma.
Among T20 bowlers, Shaheen Afridi moved up to 21st while Haris Rauf and Abbas Afridi moved up to 29th and 44th respectively. West Indies’ Akhil Hossain remains at the top, followed by England’s Adil Rashid and Sri Lanka’s Vinod Hasringa.
