HOBART: The first day of the new year proved to be auspicious for Babar Azam as he scored a half-century while remaining unbeaten against Melbourne Renegades.

Babar Azam scored 58 runs off 46 balls with the help of four fours and a six, Babar Azam’s Sydney Sixers defeated Mohammad Rizwan’s Melbourne Renegades.
Melbourne Renegades scored 164 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and set Sydney Sixers a target of 165 runs.
Sydney Sixers completed the target in 19.1 overs for the loss of four wickets. Babar Azam stood out by scoring 58 runs.
