Brazilian footballer Neymar Jr. announces retirement after defeat to Norway

In a match played in New Jersey, Norway defeated five-time world champion Brazil 1-2 to make it to the quarterfinals of the World Cup for the first time, while Brazil’s journey in the event came to an end.

Erling Haaland scored both goals for Norway, the first goal in the 79th and second in the 90th minutes, while Neymar Jr. scored the only goal for Brazil on a penalty kick in the closing moments of the match.

After the defeat, Neymar could not control his emotions and became emotional on the field after his dream of winning the World Cup was shattered. Later, he announced his retirement from international football.

According to foreign media, while talking to Brazilian journalists, Neymar said that I tried my best, it all started here in this stadium and I ended it here, now it is all over.

Following Neymar’s announcement of his retirement, football fans around the world are paying tribute to him for his outstanding international career.
