LONDON: England have announced their squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and tour of India, the England Cricket Board (ECB) said in a media release on Sunday.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has been named as the captain to lead the team.
The same 15-member squad will also travel to India in February 2025 for three ODIs, which will be held just weeks before the eight-team tournament – which will be in a hybrid model.
Ben Stokes was unable to make the squad as the all-rounder is undergoing assessment following a left hamstring injury that was revealed during the recent third Test against New Zealand.
“Durham all-rounder Ben Stokes has not been considered for selection as he is undergoing assessment following a left hamstring injury sustained during the third Test against New Zealand earlier this month,” the ECB release said.
England’s 15-man squad for India tour and Champions Trophy 2025: Jos Buttler (c), Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Brydon Carus, Ben Duckett, Jamie Overton, Jamie Smith, Liam Livingstone, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Saqib Mahmood, Phil Salt, Mark Wood.
