First T20 between Pakistan & New Zealand washed out

Rawalpindi: The first T20 match between Pakistan and New Zealand at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was washed out due heavy rainfall, on Thursday.

Players returned to the pavilion after the match was resumed. Only two balls could be bowled.

Earlier, the toss had been delayed due to a wet outfield in Pindi Cricket Stadium due to a heavy downpour.

The toss was scheduled for 7.00 pm (PST) with the match starting at 7.30 pm. However, officials stated that the next inspection would take place at 07:15 PM local time but fans are still waiting eagerly for the toss in the middle as the given time has already passed.

After the inspection, the match officials announced that the coin will be flipped at 7:30 PST with the first ball set to be bowled at 08:00 PM.

As per the Met Office, rain could play spoilsport during the first and second match of the series as there is 80 percent of rain tonight during the game.

There is also a 49 percent chance of rain on April 20 in Rawalpindi. However, the chance of rain on April 21 is considerably less at 19 percent.
