Hardik Pandya fined for violating code of conduct

MUMBAI: Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has been fined 10 percent of his match fee and given one demerit point for breaching the Indian Premier League (IPL) code of conduct.

According to Indian media reports, the action was taken after an incident that came to light during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.

Match referee Rajiv Seth found Hardik Pandya guilty of a level one offence, which relates to the misuse of cricket equipment.

According to the report, the all-rounder had got angry and hit the bails while returning to the crease, which is a breach of Article 2.2 of the IPL laws.

Hardik Pandya admitted his mistake and accepted the punishment imposed by the match referee.

According to IPL rules, the match referee’s decision on a Level One violation is final and cannot be appealed.
