India broadcasters face $500m loss as Pakistan boycotts T20 World Cup clash

Pakistan signals yes to India game, ICC stands firm on T20 World Cup

ISLAMABAD: Indian broadcasters are likely to suffer huge losses due to Pakistan’s boycott of the match against India in the T20 World Cup.

According to the report, Indian broadcasters are likely to lose about $500 million (Rs. 141 billion) due to Pakistan not playing the match against India, while the ICC could lose millions of dollars from the match’s gate money.

According to a conservative estimate, half of the revenue from the T20 World Cup comes from the Pakistan-India match. Pakistan gets a share of $35 million from the ICC every year. After the broadcasters’ losses, the ICC may take legal action against the PCB.

Despite not playing the match against India, Pakistan’s chances of qualifying for the second round are bright.
