NEW DELHI: India defeated USA easily by 29 runs in Group A match of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Chasing India’s target of 162 runs, the USA team could score 132 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
In the match played in Mumbai, USA won the toss and decided to bowl and the Indian team scored 161 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
India’s innings
The Indian batting line-up was in a mess in front of the USA bowlers and sent 4 Indian batters to the pavilion in the power play itself.
Ishan Kishan 20, Abhishek Sharma 0, Tilak Verma 25 and Shivam Dubey were out for 0. After this, Rinku Singh 6 and Hardik Pandya were out for 5 runs.
Despite the loss of 6 wickets for a total score of 77, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav played an aggressive innings and remained unbeaten on 84 runs off 49 balls.
