Indian umpires & referee refuse to attend ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan

DUBAI: No Indian umpire or referee has been included in the ICC Champions Trophy panel, here on Wednesday.

According to Indian media, match referee Javagal Srinath and umpire Nitin Menon have refused to go to Pakistan for the tournament. After their refusal, the ICC removed them from the panel.

The ICC has announced the match officials for the Champions Trophy, the panel also includes Pakistani umpires.

According to Indian media reports, Javagal Srinath has taken a leave of absence from the ICC, while Nitin Menon has given personal reasons for withdrawing from the Pakistan tour.

According to ICC regulations, Indian officials could not monitor India’s matches in Dubai.

It is noteworthy that former fast bowler Javagal Srinath represented India in 67 Tests and 229 ODIs, taking 236 Test wickets and 315 wickets in ODIs.
