LAHORE: Lahore Qalandars has announced a team change ahead of the 2026 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11), as the team’s young pace bowler, Ali Shabbir, has been injured.
The defending champions of the PSL has added the left-arm pace bowler, Shahab Khan, as the replacement.
The Lahore Qalandars have confirmed that the team’s young pace bowler, Ali Shabbir, sustained a right-hand injury while fielding for Bahawalpur during the National T20 Cup.
After the examination of the injured player, the pacer has been declared unable to play the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League.
Shabbir, who has been included in the Under-23 category, has been considered one of the promising young players of the Qalandars.
The injured pace bowler has also participated in the team’s ongoing conditioning camp at the Smart Qalandars High Performance Center in Islamabad. It has been confirmed that the player has sustained a fracture and has been advised to take complete rest for the next four to six weeks.
In his place, Qalandars have decided to bring in left-arm pacier Shahab Khan, who performed well in the recently concluded National T20 tournament. Shahab was the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament and picked 13 wickets in five matches.
