DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the nominations for the Player of the Month award for October.
Pakistan’s Nauman Ali has been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month award. Nauman Ali has been nominated for the award for his outstanding performance against South Africa.
South Africa’s Senuran Muthusamy and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan have also been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month award.
In addition, the ICC has also announced the nominations for the Women’s Player of the Month award for the month of October.
South Africa captain Laura Woolvett has been nominated for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award.
India’s Smriti Mandhana and Australia’s Ashley Gardner have also been nominated for the award.
Earlier, Pakistan spinner Nauman Ali achieved a career-best second position in the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings.
He earned this honor for playing a prominent role in Pakistan’s victory in the first Test match against South Africa in Lahore.
Left-arm spinner Nauman Ali took 6 wickets for 112 runs and 4 wickets for 79 runs in the match.
Thanks to these outstanding performances, he has moved up 4 places to second place and is currently only 29 rating points behind India’s Jasprit Bumrah.
With 853 rating points, Nauman Ali also achieved the honor of becoming the 7th Pakistani bowler to cross the 850-point mark.
He became the first Pakistani bowler to cross this milestone after Yasir Shah in 2016. His previous best position was 5th, which he achieved during the series against the West Indies this year.
Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has also made significant progress. He has moved up 3 places in the second innings by taking 4 wickets for 33 runs and has now reached 19th position.
