Arshad Nadeem is motivated to win and the whole nation hypes his success. This is Pakistan’s last chance of winning a gold medal in the final Paris 2024 Olympics and ending a 32-year Olympic medal drought.
Pakistan marks 32 years since its last Olympic medal win. On this day in 1992, Pakistan’s national hockey team secured a bronze medal by defeating the Netherlands 4-3 at the Barcelona Olympics.
The match showcased Pakistan’s determination, overcoming a 2-0 deficit with goals from Shahbaz Ahmed, Khalid Bashir (twice), and Qamar Ibrahim for a final score of 4-3.
Since then, Pakistan has eagerly awaited another Olympic medal. Despite participating in the Atlanta, Sydney, Athens, Beijing, London, Rio, and Tokyo Olympics, Pakistani athletes have repeatedly returned empty-handed.
Earlier, on August 7, Arshad Nadeem recorded a video message thanking his supporters and affirming his success. He repeatedly requested prayers from the nation. In response, several Pakistani cricketers and celebrities posted videos wishing him success on social media.
