HARARE: Pakistan has won the toss and decided to field against England in their opening match of the Under-19 World Cup.
In this match to be held in Zimbabwe, Pakistan Under-19 team captain Farhan Yousuf says that they have decided to bowl first after seeing the conditions.
He said that playing the tri-series here has helped us understand the conditions.
On the other hand, the English team captain said that we are coming back after winning both our warm-up matches, which puts us in a better position.
He said that we will take the field with two spinners.
Pakistan, being placed in group ‘C’ of the 16-nation tournament, will play Scotland in their second group game on January 19 at Takashinga Sports Club before locking horns with Zimbabwe on January 22 at the same venue.
The Super Six stage of the competition will take place in Bulawayo and Harare between 24 January and 1st February, with the top four teams proceeding to the semi-finals scheduled for 3rd and 4th February. The final match of the competition will take place at the Harare Sports Club on Friday, 6th February.
