Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 37 runs in T20 series opener

LAHORE: Pakistan cricket team defeated Bangladesh by 37 runs in the first match of the three-match T20 series.

In the match played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, the Bangladesh team was bundled out for 164 runs in pursuit of the target of 203 runs set by Pakistan.

For Pakistan, Hasan Ali stood out by taking 5 wickets, Shadab Khan took 2, Khushdil Shah, Faheem Ashraf and Salman Agha took one wicket each.

Bangladesh captain Liton Das was dismissed for 48 runs. Zakir Ali scored 36 and Tanzeed Hasan scored 31 runs.

Earlier, the Pakistani team won the toss and decided to bat against Bangladesh.

The national team scored 201 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, captain Salman Ali Agha scored 56, Shadab scored 48 and Hassan Nawaz scored 44 runs.

For Bangladesh, Shoriful Islam took two wickets, while Mehidy Hasan, Hassan, Natzeem, Rashad and Shamim took one wicket each.

In a conversation after the toss, national team captain Salman Ali Agha said that all the players are in form, we will bat first, I hope the players will live up to expectations.

Bangladesh captain Liton Das said that they will play new cricket in a new place, if they had won the toss, they would have bowled.

The national team includes Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Muhammad Haris, captain Salman Agha, Hassan Nawaz and vice-captain Shadab Khan.

Other players include Khushdil Shah, Faheem Ashraf, Hassan Ali, Haris Rauf and Abrar Ahmed.
