Pakistan clinch 7-wicket win over Sri Lanka in Tri-Series

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in the tri-nation T20 series to register their second win in the series.

In the match played in Rawalpindi, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first.

Batting first, the Sri Lankan team managed to score 128 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Jayant Liyanage remained unbeaten on 41 runs for Sri Lanka. Kusal Perera scored 25 and Kamil Mishra scored 22 runs.

Mohammad Nawaz took three wickets for Pakistan. Salman Mirza, Faheem Ashraf and Abrar Ahmed took one wicket each.

Pakistan achieved the target of 129 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the 16th over thanks to Sahibzada Farhan’s brilliant batting.

Sahibzada Farhan remained unbeaten on 80 runs off 45 balls. His innings included 5 sixes and 6 fours.

In addition to them, Saim Ayub scored 20 and Babar Azam scored 16 runs.

Sri Lanka had lost their first match to Zimbabwe by 67 runs, while Pakistan had defeated Zimbabwe by 5 wickets in their first match.
