Pakistan Hockey Team Forced to Stay in Remote Cabin during their recent Australia tour, highlighting serious accommodation problems faced by the national squad. The issue emerged during the team’s stay in Hobart, where players were placed in a distant lodging facility with limited comfort and basic arrangements.

Videos shared online showed several players living in crowded rooms fitted with bunk beds. The location was on the outskirts of the city and far from the main competition venue. Reports suggested the distance between the cabin and the hockey ground was more than 90 minutes, creating travel difficulties for the players.

The accommodation concerns reportedly began earlier in Canberra. Hotel bookings made for the team were cancelled due to unpaid dues linked to the Pakistan Hockey Federation. As a result, team officials and players had to look for affordable short-term places on their own.

Sources familiar with the tour said the federation had initially managed accommodation for only a week in Hobart. However, the selected place did not meet the standard requirements expected for an international sports team. Players were also seen vacating their rooms early on their final day, packing their belongings before the scheduled checkout while continuing their tour preparations.

Local supporters and members of the Pakistani community in Australia stepped forward to help the team. They assisted with arranging food and temporary accommodation after the earlier disruptions. Even after new bookings were made, several players continued sharing single rooms due to limited resources.

These off-field challenges came at a difficult time for the national side. Pakistan struggled to deliver positive results during the Australian leg of the FIH Pro League. The team lost multiple matches against Australia and Germany, including defeats by margins of 3-2, 3-0, 5-2, and 6-1.

Despite these difficulties, Pakistan’s international schedule will continue. The team is expected to compete in European fixtures later this year, with matches planned in Belgium and Spain. Further games against India and England are also part of the upcoming calendar.

The recent situation has raised fresh questions about planning and support for the national hockey squad. However, the players remain focused on their future matches as they aim to improve their performance in the ongoing international season.
