LAHORE: Pakistan has announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, set to be played from May 30 to June 4 in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
The selection committee confirmed that Shaheen Shah Afridi will continue as captain, while Salman Ali Agha has been appointed vice-captain for the series.
The squad includes three uncapped ODI players, Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, and Rohail Nazir, who have earned their first call-ups to the format.
Key players, including Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, and Sufyan Moqim, have been recalled after missing the previous ODI series against Bangladesh.
Wicketkeeping duties will be shared between Muhammad Ghazi Ghori and Rohail Nazir, following the exclusion of Usman Khan due to illness. Meanwhile, Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub remain unavailable as they continue rehabilitation for injuries.
The squad is scheduled to assemble in Islamabad for training sessions starting May 23. Australia’s team will also arrive on the same day and practice at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium ahead of the series.
