Pakistan suffers humiliating defeat in first ODI against Bangladesh

DHAKA: Bangladesh has trashed Pakistan in the first One Day International (ODI) by eight wickets in a match played in Dhaka, on Wednesday.

Bangladesh achieved the target of 115 runs set by Pakistan in 15.1 overs for the loss of only 2 wickets.

Bangladesh’s Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 27 runs while Tanzeed Hasan played an unbeaten innings of 67 runs.

Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Wasim took one wicket each for Pakistan.

Earlier,  Pakistan’s batting line-up failed miserably in the first ODI against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.

Bangladesh won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat, but the top batting order, including the Pakistani openers, looked helpless in front of the Bangladeshi bowlers.

Pakistani batsmen kept losing wickets one after another; Pakistan scored 114 runs in the 31st over, with Faheem Ashraf scoring 37 runs

Pakistan has fielded Sahibzada Farhan and Maaz Sadaqat to open the innings, 4 new players are making their ODI debuts in the match, including Abdul Samad, Maaz Sadaqat, Sahibzada Farhan, and Shamil Hossain.

Sahibzada Farhan and Maaz Sadaqat opened the innings for Pakistan, but Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed for 27 runs, while Shamil Hussain could only score 4 runs. Maaz Sadaqat also proved to be a guest of 18 runs in the first match of his career.

Faheem Ashraf stood out for Pakistan by scoring 37 runs, while Mohammad Rizwan was limited to 10, Salman Agha 5, Hussain Talat 4, Abdul Samad 0, Shaheen Afridi 4, Mohammad Wasim 0, and Abrar Ahmed remained not out at 0.

Nahid Rana bowled brilliantly for Bangladesh, taking 5 wickets for 25 runs in 7 overs.
