DUBAI – Cricket fans around the world can rejoice as the much-anticipated Asia Cup 2025 match between arch-rivals Pakistan and India is scheduled to take place in Dubai, UAE on September 7 this year.

Despite the rising tensions following the recent Pahalgam incident, the tournament is set to go ahead as planned, dismissing rumours of cancellation.

Asia Cup 2025 will follow its original T20 format and is scheduled to begin in the UAE on September 4 or 5.

The group stage will be followed by the Super Four round. If both India and Pakistan qualify, they could face each other again on September 14, and possibly for the third time in the final on September 21.

An Indian broadcaster confirmed: “The tournament will be held in September, and our team will participate.”

The reports further said that regardless of diplomatic tensions, India has never refused to play Pakistan in ICC events, mainly due to the significant media rights revenue, most of which is held by Indian broadcasters.

The last time these two cricketing giants met was during the Champions Trophy 2025, which was also held in Dubai. Since 2008, India has avoided visiting Pakistan, opting for neutral venues such as the United Arab Emirates.

Despite India’s continued reluctance to play on Pakistani soil, the excitement among fans is at an all-time high, with many eagerly awaiting the clash between the arch-rivals in what promises to be a thrilling cricket showdown.
