Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali cleared of rape allegations in UK

Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali cleared of rape allegations in UK

LONDON: Pakistani international batter Haider Ali has been exonerated in an alleged rape case after Greater Manchester Police found insufficient evidence to proceed.

The case was closed due to a lack of evidence to support the allegations made by a British-Pakistani woman.

Earlier, a British-Pakistani woman had accused him of rape, but after a thorough investigation, the police concluded that there was not enough evidence to support the claim.

Haider Ali, who had strongly denied the allegations from the beginning, is expected to have his passport returned, allowing him to travel freely in and out of the UK again.

The cricketer’s suspension by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will likely be reviewed in light of this development. Haider Ali’s legal representation, led by Barrister Moeen Khan, maintained his innocence throughout the investigation.

With the case now closed, Haider Ali can resume his cricketing career, pending the PCB’s decision on his suspension
