ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has selected the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the neutral venue for the ICC Champions Trophy UAE, here on Sunday.
According to a PCB spokesperson, the national cricket board has officially informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) of this decision. As a result, the Pakistan-India match in the Champions Trophy will also be played in the UAE.
The spokesperson clarified that the final decision on the neutral venue is for the host country, Pakistan.
The venue was selected after a meeting between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and UAE Cricket Board Chairman Sheikh Al Nahyan.
Earlier, PCB Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi had invited UAE Cricket Board Chairman Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan to visit Pakistan for the upcoming Champions Trophy.
According to details, the UAE Cricket chief met Naqvi in Ghotki. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and promoting cricket in both countries.
Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan expressed his best wishes to Pakistan for the successful holding of the tournament.
