PSB–PHF nexus surfaces ahead of hockey federation polls

ISLAMABAD: Allegations of an alleged nexus between the Pakistan Sports Board and the Pakistan Hockey Federation have surfaced, which sources say is aimed at influencing the upcoming elections of the Hockey Federation.

According to sources, Zahid Pirzada, a close relative of Pakistan Sports Board Director General Yasir Pirzada, has been sent to Australia as a manager with the national hockey team.

It is being claimed that this move is being taken to achieve favorable results in the Pakistan Hockey Federation.

Meanwhile, the process of checking hockey clubs in connection with the elections to be held on the court’s orders is also underway.

Sources say that most of the favorable clubs are being registered, due to which favorable results are expected.

On the other hand, the spokesperson of the Pakistan Sports Board has also confirmed that a close relative of the Director General has been sent as a manager with the national hockey team. However, further details could not be revealed in this regard.
