KARACHI: Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Rawalpindi’s captain Muhammad Rizwan has accepted responsibility for losing 7 consecutive matches and being out of the play-off race.
After Saturday’s defeat by Lahore Qalandars, Rawalpindi’s captain Muhammad Rizwan said in a press conference that my performance was not good, that’s why the team’s result was like this.
Muhammad Rizwan said that there must have been some shortcomings on my part, that’s why the result was like this, I was opening with a young player, I definitely have my own wishes regarding the position, but the team’s decision is unanimous.
Rawalpindi’s captain Muhammad Rizwan said that when you lose, it becomes difficult to find positives, some things have been quite positive, if you look at the team, there is no shortage anywhere, but luck is not on your side.
Muhammad Rizwan said that do not recognize the leader by the team’s result, you can try as a captain, but if there are mistakes, then nothing can be done.
He said that in the Big Bash, I had said that my performance will not make me a place in the Pakistan team. If I don’t perform, it doesn’t mean that I will lose heart. Cricket is my passion. I don’t know anything else. I will work hard and come back.
Muhammad Rizwan said that this is the most difficult phase of my life. I accept that I have failed. All I have to do is work hard.
It should be noted that on Saturday, in the HBL PSL 11, Lahore Qalandars defeated Rawalpindi by 32 runs and eliminated them from the play-off race.
Lahore Qalandars scored 210 runs for 4 wickets while batting first. In pursuit of the target, the Rawalpindi team was able to score 178 runs for 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
This was Rawalpindi’s seventh consecutive defeat in the ongoing PSL. They have not been able to win a single match so far.
