ISLAMABAD: Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo once again played a key role in guiding his Saudi club Al-Nasr to a 2-5 victory over Al-Najma. In this match, Ronaldo scored two goals and further consolidated his team’s lead.
However, one special moment in this match became the topic of discussion on social media more than Ronaldo’s performance, when he said ‘Bismillah’ before scoring a penalty.
He scored a penalty in the 56th minute to make the score 2-3, later scoring another goal in the 73rd minute to make the team’s lead 2-4.
After this brilliant performance, Ronaldo’s career goal tally has reached 967 and he is now rapidly moving towards the historic milestone of 1000 goals. This is not the first time that Ronaldo has used a specific Islamic word that is considered an integral part of Muslim life.
In December 2025, after winning the Middle East Footballer of the Year award for the third consecutive time, he used the word ‘Inshallah’ to mark his 1,000th goal. There has been speculation on social media that Ronaldo may convert to Islam if he stays in Saudi Arabia for a while longer, but there has been no indication of such a thing from Ronaldo himself or sources close to him.
