KOLKATA: In the first semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, New Zealand thrashed South Africa by 9 wickets to reach the Final.
Finn Allen’s outstanding century on 33 balls helped New Zealand seal their spot in the Final.
Earlier, South Africa set a target of 170 runs for New Zealand to win.
In the match being played in Kolkata, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and invited South Africa to bat first.
South Africa scored 169 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Marco Janssen remained unbeaten on 55 runs.
In addition, Aiden Markram was dismissed for 18, de Kock for 10, Dewald Brewers for 34, David Miller for 6, and Stubbs for 29 runs.
Matt Henry, McConkie, and Richin Ravindra took 2 wickets each for New Zealand.
The second semi-final of the T20 World Cup will be played between India and England in Mumbai tomorrow.
