LAHORE: Separate national squads are likely to be formed for the Australia series and the T20 World Cup.

According to sources, the national team for the three T20 matches against Australia is expected to be announced on January 25, while the national squad for the T20 World Cup will be announced by January 30.

Both senior and junior players will be included in the T20 World Cup squad.

Sources have said that Babar Azam’s inclusion in the national squad will be after his recent performance.

Head coach Mike Hesson is carefully reviewing the performance and fitness of the available players at the ongoing national players’ training camp in Lahore.

The selection committee will announce the final squad after consulting the head coach and captain.

It should be noted that the former captain has batted with a weak strike rate of 103 while playing 11 matches in the BBL, and Babar Azam has scored a total of 202 runs.
