ISLAMABAD: Sky Sports, a British sports broadcaster, has made an eleventh-hour agreement with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to provide screen coverage of England’s tour of Pakistan, the channel announced on X.
The broadcast deal was finalized after earlier uncertainty surrounding the broadcast rights of the three-match Pakistan vs England Test series, the first test of which will begin on October 7.
It is pertinent to mention that, Sky broadcasted England’s last tour of Pakistan in December 2022.
Sky Sports’ renowned commentators Ian Ward, Nasser Hussain, and Michael Atherton are also expected to feature. The channel will take the host broadcaster’s feed, which is expected to feature David Gower.
The schedule of the Test series was also changed at the last minute. The second fixture was originally planned to be held in Karachi but has been relocated to Multan due to renovations at the Karachi stadium in preparation for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.
Earlier in the wee hours of Wednesday, the England cricket team, led by all-rounder Ben Stokes, arrived in Multan for the Test series. The squad will rest on October 2 and 3 before beginning practice sessions on October 4.
