South Africa defeats Australia to reach Women’s T20 World Cup final

South Africa announces squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2025

DUBAI: South Africa defeated Australia by 8 wickets to reach the final of Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, here on Thursday.

In the match played in Dubai, South Africa achieved the target of 135 runs in 17.2 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. Anneke Bosch was unbeaten on 74, and Laura Wolvaardt contributed 42 runs.

Earlier, South Africa won the toss and decided to field. Australia scored 134 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, with Beth Mooney being the top scorer with 44 runs. Aya Bunga Khaka took 2 wickets for South Africa.

The second semi-final will be played tomorrow between New Zealand and West Indies.
