ISLMABAD: In 2022, Apple introduced the feature of sending emergency SOS messages via satellite for the first time for iPhone users.
This feature is very important for the safety of people and is mainly aimed at saving human lives.
This feature makes it possible to send text messages from an iPhone even if there is no cellular signal or Wi-Fi available in an area.
Now this feature has once again helped save lives, this time saving 6 people.
6 people were trapped in an EVA launch while skiing near Lake Tahoe in the United States.
According to emergency services, these people were trapped in the snow there and there were no cellular or Wi-Fi signals in the area.
On this occasion, these people used the Emergency SOS feature available in the iPhone 14, 15, 16 and 17 series.
When the Emergency SOS feature is enabled, it connects the phone to a satellite and then contacts emergency services through the satellite.
So, the people trapped in this EVA launch sent a message to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office through Emergency SOS.
Officials from the California Office of Emergency Services said that a member of our staff stayed in touch with the Nevada Sheriff’s Office for 4 hours to help the trapped people be rescued.
Along with the message, this Emergency SOS feature also shares the device’s location with relief agencies.
After several hours of effort, rescue workers rescued all 6 people.
It should be noted that this feature has helped save many lives in the United States and Canada so far.
