LAHORE: Police officials have warned people buying second-hand mobile phones that they may face legal action and investigation.
According to details, the trend of buying second-hand mobile phones from the market is increasing rapidly, however, this facility can sometimes pose serious problems for users.
Recently, an investigation by the Lahore Police’s Mobile Tracking Unit has revealed that over 35,000 stolen or snatched mobile phones have been recovered from Lahore in the last few years.
Police officials said that a large number of these were mobile phones that were purchased by users without verification and legal verification, due to which many people later faced legal action and investigation.
Police have warned the public that buying second-hand mobile phones from online platforms or unregistered dealers can prove to be dangerous and expensive.
Speaking on this situation, Zeeshan Khalid, Senior Vice President of the All Pakistan Mobile Phones Association, said that consumers should verify the IMEI number while buying a mobile phone and ensure that they purchase from an authorized vendor to avoid any legal complications.
