CALIFORNIA: Messaging platform WhatsApp is preparing a major visual update, introducing a redesigned settings page along with a new cover photo feature.
The update was spotted in the latest iOS beta version of the app. According to WABetaInfo, users will soon be able to add a cover photo at the top of the settings screen, a feature similar to Facebook profiles that has never before been available on WhatsApp.
Under the new layout, the profile picture will appear in the top center, with the cover image placed above it, giving the account section a cleaner and more modern look.
WhatsApp is also replacing the “Settings” label with “You,” making it easier for people to identify which account is currently active, especially for users managing multiple accounts on the same device.
The feature is currently available to a limited number of beta testers, and a wider rollout is expected in the coming weeks. However, since it remains under testing, the company has not announced an official date for global release.
