Punjab issues summer camp schedule during vacations amid heatwave

PESHAWAR: A four-day working week has been implemented in government educational institutions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from today.

The Department of Secondary and Elementary Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced new working hours. According to the announcement, schools in the province will be closed on Fridays and Saturdays, while the new working hours will be effective immediately from April 1, 2026.

The new working hours have been arranged in view of the increase in fuel prices and shortage of supply. Classes in primary schools will continue from 7:30 am to 1:35 pm. Educational process in middle schools will be from 7:30 am to 2:35 pm, while the holiday in high and higher secondary schools will be at 3:00 pm.

On the other hand, schools closed due to austerity and fuel crisis in Punjab have reopened today. Teaching activities have resumed regularly after online classes.
