Heavy rain is expected in the upper reaches of the Indus River from tomorrow, and rain is also expected in the upper reaches of the Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej rivers.
The NDMA says that heavy rain is expected in Islamabad, Potohar and Azad Kashmir tomorrow, while the intensity of rain is expected to increase in Gilgit-Baltistan and northern Balochistan.
There is a possibility of a slight increase in the inflow of water in Tarbela and Mangla dams, and a slight increase in the flow of water in the Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej rivers.
In the current situation, there is no threat of large-scale river flooding, and the flow of water in mountain streams and small rain drains is expected to increase locally.
There is a risk of localized flooding in sensitive upper areas and mountain streams, flooding in urban areas and inundation of low-lying areas, and landslides in mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.
