ISLAMABAD: Islamabad experienced severe heat today and rain is likely in some places in Islamabad from Friday while the humid weather is to continue in the city.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Rain along with wind and thundershowers are expected in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Tala Gang, Jhelum, and other areas of Punjab from july 17 to 20 with occasional gaps.

Earlier, the Met Office said that rain is likely in Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan on Thursday along with expected rain showers in some places of eastern Balochistan.

It has rained with thunder in the Samahni area of ​​Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) and its surroundings, heavy rain has continued for several hours in Koh-e-Sulaiman, Shirani, and Danasar.

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued urban flooding and flash flooding alerts in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Islamabad, KP, and central and northeastern Punjab from July 17 to 21 as Monsoon rains and thundershowers with occasional gaps forecast in these regions.
