Islamabad weather forecast: PMD predicts more torrential rains from tonight

ISLAMABAD – More rain/thundershowers with isolated heavy rains are expected over Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong monsoon winds from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal enter the upper/central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave affects the upper reaches of the country.

Under these weather conditions, gusty winds/thundershowers are likely over Twin Cities, Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper/Central Punjab and Kashmir on Thursday night. Gilgit-Baltistan, South Punjab and North-East Balochistan are also likely to experience gusty winds/gusty winds and thundershowers at few places.

More rain with gusty winds/thunderstorm is likely over Twin Cities, Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper/Central Punjab, Northeast Balochistan and Kashmir on Friday and Saturday. Galgit-Baltistan and Punjab are also likely to experience gusty winds/storms and thundershowers at few places.

The maximum temperature in Islamabad is expected to be between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius on Friday and between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature is expected to be between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius on Friday and 36 and 38 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Islamabad, Potohar region, North-East Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Barkhan witnessed rain/thunderstorm during the last 24 hours. Elsewhere in the country, the weather remained hot and humid.

Nokkundi and Dalbandin remained the hottest places in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 49°C. Maximum temperature in Sibbi was recorded at 46°C, Panjgur and Jacobabad at 45°C, and Dadu, Chilas, Turbat and Rohri at 44°C.

The maximum temperature recorded in Islamabad was 34 degrees Celsius. In the evening, relative humidity was recorded at 74%.

The maximum temperature recorded in Rawalpindi was 33 degrees Celsius. In the evening, relative humidity was recorded at 64%.
