Islamabad weather: Heavy rainfall, strong winds expected at night

ISLAMABAD: The residents of the Federal capital are witnessing light rainfall and a chilly breeze from the morning bringing a significant temperature drop.

The maximum temperature recorded today ranges up to 18 degrees Celsius, whereas the minimum temperature expected in the evening will range up to 03 degrees Celsius.

The humidity level in the federal capital ranges between 65 to 70% with light wind blowing in the northwest direction at the speed of 08 km/h. Whereas, the chance of precipitation is up to 15% today.

According to the Met Office, this rain spell is expected to persist until March 2. Heavy rainfall has lashed Quetta in Balochistan, further damaging communication setups.

The Meteorological Department of Pakistan has forecast heavy rains to last for the next 24 hours. The Kurram area in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is receiving downpours leading to seriously cold temperatures due to snow in the upper regions.

There is rain in Karak which is additionally expected to result in a drop in temperature.
