KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted that Karachi and other regions of Sindh will receive rain and thunderstorms on March 18 and 19.
The weather system, which is associated with a western disturbance, will bring showers, strong winds, and light hail to the entire province. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued an advisory today, stating that a westerly wave is expected to move into the country’s western regions starting tomorrow (Tuesday).
The weather system will create partly cloudy conditions in Karachi, which will bring possibilities of thunderstorms and rain on March 18 and 19.
According to PMD’s advisory, rain and thunderstorms with strong winds and isolated hailstorms are likely in Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allah Yar, Umerkot, Tharparker, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Nosheroferoz, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Dadu on Wednesday and Thursday.
Larkana, Qamber Shahdad Kot, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Ghotki and Sukkur districts will experience heavy rain on March 18 and 19 which will occur with temporary breaks.
The PMD forecasts wet weather conditions from March 17 to March 20 in various parts of the country, which include Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
The upper parts of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy weather, while Balochistan and its surrounding areas will see rain, wind and thunderstorms on Eid days according to the PMD.
Islamabad and Rawalpindi are also expected to receive rain as well. People should follow safety measures during the rainstorm and check local updates to prevent disruptions from heavy rain, according to authorities.
