Karachi weather: Heavy rainfall, flash floods expected in port city

KARACHI: The Paki­stan Meteorological Depart­ment (PMD) has predicted pleasant yet dry weather in most districts of the Sindh province during the next 24 hours; however, citizens are set to experience pre-monsoon rains from today.

Today, Karachi experienced mainly heavy rainfall, with temperatures ranging from 30°C to 28°C. The humidity in the city varies up to 85%, and the air is moving in the northwest direction at a speed of 14 km/h.

Widespread rain-wind/thundershower (with scattered heavyfalls at times very heavy) is expected in Sindh and northeast/South Balochistan. Partly cloudy weather with isolated rain-wind/thundershower is expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, northeast/south Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Earlier, Widespread rain-wind/thundershower (with scattered heavyfalls) occurred in Sindh, central/south Punjab, northeast Balochistan, while at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, upper Punjab, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan.
