Lahore weather forecast: Monsoon rains to start from today in city

LAHORE: Rain along with cool breeze in Lahore and its adjacent areas on Thursday morning turned the weather pleasant. Downpour brought much-needed relief for the citizens amid the scorching heat.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) the monsoon rainfall system will be activated from today and monsoon will be continue until July 21.

According to the Met Office, rain along with wind and thundershowers are expected in Punjab’s provincial capital of Lahore Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Tala Gang, Jhelum, and other areas of Punjab from july 17 to 20 with occasional gaps.

Earlier, the Met Office said that rain is likely in Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan on Thursday along with expected rain showers in some places of eastern Balochistan.

It has rained with thunder in the Samahni area of ​​Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) and its surroundings, heavy rain has continued for several hours in Koh-e-Sulaiman, Shirani, and Danasar.

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued urban flooding and flash flooding alerts in Lahore, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Islamabad, KP, and central and northeastern Punjab from July 17 to 21 as Monsoon rains and thundershowers with occasional gaps forecast in these regions.
