Lahore weather forecast: PMD forecasts light rainfall in provincial capital

LAHORE: Citizens of Lahore will likely experience light intermittent rainfall overnight, providing relief from the intense heat but also causing flooding in low-lying areas.

According to PMD, Lahore will continue to experience a mix of sunshine and clouds throughout the next few days.

The citizens of the Provincial capital will experience temperatures ranging up to 26 to 35 degrees Celsius. The humidity level is increased to 70%, whereas the wind is moving in the northwest direction at the speed of 10 km/h.

Moreover, the chances of precipitation are up to 30%.

The Meteorological Department has predicted further rain in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab from August 23 to 24. NDMA has expressed the possibility of increased water flow in local rivers and streams, as well as the Kabul River, due to the heavy downpours.

According to NDMA, there is a risk of flooding in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Abbottabad, Parachinar, Charsadda, Chitral, Dir, Haripur, Hazara, and others. Flooding is also expected in Malakand, Mansehra, Mardan, Peshawar, and Swabi.

NDMA has directed all relevant agencies to remain on alert and ensure immediate response to any potential emergencies.
