LAHORE: Monsoon season has set in as the weather has become pleasant due to rain in many cities of Punjab, including the capital Lahore.

Clouds have covered the sky in the provincial capital Lahore, which has made the weather pleasant. Rain has poured in Township, Canal Road, Harbanspura, Kahna, Jallo Mor, Taj Bagh, and other areas.

The commissioner of Lahore has issued directions to all the deputy commissioners and relevant officers to stay alert in any case of emergency.

He ordered the LWMC (Lahore Waste Management Company) to swiftly act as the rain stops to carry clean-up operations.

The Traffic police have been instructed to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during office hours and to keep emergency camps operational.

Electricity was cut off in many areas due to feeder trips, and citizens had to face severe difficulties.

WASA is on alert on the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. MD WASA has directed all field teams to remain active.

However, NDMA has issued a storm and rain alert for the next 12 to 24 hours.
