Lahore weather update: Smog disrupts daily life in Punjab

LAHORE: Smog/fog prevailed in major cities of Lahore and Punjab on Saturday due to which morning and late-night visibility was significantly reduced, and normal life was disrupted.

Smog/fog increased flu, eye inflammation, skin allergies and other seasonal ailments.

Murree was the coldest place in Punjab where the minimum temperature was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius.

Lahore recorded a minimum temperature of 19 degrees Celsius. Relative humidity was recorded at 34% in the evening.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the current weather conditions will persist in most parts of Lahore and Punjab on Sunday.

According to the summary situation, continental air is dominant over most parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, the weather is likely to remain dry in most districts of Lahore and Punjab on Saturday and Sunday.

The minimum temperature of Lahore is likely to be between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.

Smog/fog will likely persist in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Kasur, Okara, Bahawalpur, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and surroundings during morning/night hours.

Health experts have advised people to take necessary measures to avoid the dangers associated with smog/fog. He advised the citizens to avoid going out unnecessarily. If unavoidable, wear a mask when going out, he said, taking extra care of the elderly and children.
